Balance between Work from Home and Work for home

Work from home is the biggest challenge faced by people for the last seven months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But if managed properly one can easily cope up with the problems faced due to work from home. under the current circumstances, the boundary between personal life and professional life has become blurred. As a result of which, most people are stressed and find it very difficult to concentrate on their work.


Try to stay organized by working in a different place than where you spend your leisure time. This helps you separate work and play. If this isn’t possible, try to keep your work desk (kitchen table, etc.) organized and tidy. Spend a small amount of time a day organizing folders, files, and images, and clearing out your trash.


Try to managee your Schedule and Time. If you are not able to manage your time effectively at home then let the apps do it for you. Create personal events and reminders that tell you when to shift gears and start on new tasks. There are a host of apps available to help you plan and use your time more efficiently. Trello offers a card-based approach to project management, based on the Kanban method. It allows you to get an overview of your tasks at a glance and helps you to get things done.


Have a proper personal and professional life management. Being at home and maintaining a balance between personal and professional life is the toughest job. It’s really difficult to pay attention o your office work and being available for household work in between if urgent. Ideally, your home is a place of relaxation, safety, and security. It’s a place where you subconsciously slip into a calm, easygoing state of mind, putting the stresses of the workday behind you. Working from home punches a hole right through that neat mental division. Many telecommuters complain they feel like they’re never off the job. They always feel a compulsion to check email or get “just one last thing done.”


To cope up with distractions in work at home is one of the challenging tasks. Every job, whether it’s on a high profile or low profile needs concentration and concentrating at your work being home is really challenging. Surrounded by your personal belongings and reminders of chores, it’s hard to focus. Distractions like your TV, books, and the laundry start calling to you. Noise-cancelling headphones can help you avoid auditory distractions, such as your kids playing or your spouse watching your favourite show.
Set rules with your family not to disturb you while you’re working. Tell them to behave as though you were at the office. Also, try to work in the room with no distraction sources like T.V. etc. and having the same office-like environment.


Do take regular breaks so as to avoid exhaustion. Without a structure and being in a different environment, you might forget to take regular breaks. Breaks can increase mental wellbeing and productivity. The key is working efficiently. Try setting alarms on your phone to help remind you to take breaks.


Make sure to take the time while you’re working remotely to socially connect with others. This is more important now than ever, with so many people alone, working from home.

You should never view your challenges as a disadvantage. Instead, it’s important for you to understand that your experience facing and overcoming adversity is actually one of your biggest advantages.
